Leunig
Why is it that we like to have someone else give a clear statement of something that worries us? Take Leunig for example. The quiet melancholy and humanity of his cartoons strike deep at the heart of modern day angst. Why do we like this so much? I think because we like to know that we're not alone, we're not the only one who feels shitty. To put it another way, misery loves company. Maybe it's just that we need confirmation that we're not insane, the world is not right. Having it acknowledged by someone else seems to make it easier to handle... at least someone understands.
