the gap house

where i lived, once upon a time.

outside
The house... Industrotank lurking in the carport, domain of the psycho kitty and over-confident possums. One night at easter I found one had come in through a window and was eating an easter egg from the coffee table. I looked at him, he looked at me... and went back to the easter egg. I had to remind him that the presence of a human was meant to make him run away.

Dante
Dante. Psycho kitty, master of all he surveys... and a total sucker for having his chin tickled. The day I moved in, there were two piles of clothes on my bed: one was all black, the other was topped by the only light brown thing I owned - a pair of chinos. The chinos were almost the exact same colour as Dante. The little sod promptly sat on the black pile of clothes. I couldn't stay mad, although I did squirt him with the ironing water spray. Classic burmese, he loved attention. What this photo doesn't show is the notch in his ear, courtesy of his love of fighting other cats (and we think the odd possum, when he caught them at his food dish).

inside
The lounge room, with Funky Green Couch™ and Funky Celtic Wall Hanging™ (well actually it's a square carpet, but damn it looked cool on the wall).

view from the couch
The view from the couch. Nice, huh? :) This was a great spot to spend a quiet afternoon. It was also really beautiful at night, particularly when it rained. The falling drops would show up really clearly in the streetlight outside.

bottles
The Bottles. Before you start organising an intervention; they were there before I moved in.

As a sidenote, I took these shots in fairly poor light with Agfa 400 film... "high colour" or something, I forget the name but it's the one with four colour layers. It gives fantastic results - brilliant colours. These shots were developed in a minilab, nothing special.
